Driving Your Success By Watching The Details
Posted on 05. Jan, 2012 by Pat.
Search engine optimization is an internet marketing strategy which considers such factors as how search engines operate, what people search for, what keywords are typed into search engines, and which search engines are used by people. This quick blurb can help you understand this concept better, and gives you hints on improving your website’s visibility.
Live by the rule that no page on your site should be more than two clicks away from your home page. Search engines dislike very deep links and often times ignore them by not indexing them. As well, by sticking to this rule, you help guarantee that all of your pages get to enjoy some residual page rank value from your home page. Consider getting the help of an internet marketing specialist for advice.
You do not have to use the same exact word for your keyword throughout your article. The geniuses at search engines are making the algorithms smarter every year and they are able to understand that plurals and tenses of your keyword are really the same word. Writing like this will keep your keyword visible to the search engines, and will make your page much more readable for your audience.
For readability, you should try and keep the font size at a minimum of 11 or 12px (2 or 3 if you are using DreamWeaver). Anything less is too small and if you do happen to have traffic, they will quickly leave anyway. However, do not make the mistake of going too big either as that will have the same effect.
Make sure to spend ample time editing any text that will be published on your website. Nothing can hurt the quality of a website like poor spelling and grammar. Even one small typo can be enough to turn people away. It should go without saying, but make sure all spelling and grammar is correct in order to give your website a polished and professional look.
Smart website optimization helps websites to improve their visibility when certain keywords are searched for. With a varied and methodical approach, over time, you (or your webmaster) can get your site to climb up the rankings. It is a crucial element of modern business practice.

Netlytics Text Data Mining Software
Posted on 04. Jan, 2012 by Henry.
There are 3 steps necessary to use FREE text analytics software from the faculty and students at the School of Information Management at Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia.
Step 1: Data Collection for Unstructured Text Analytics
Import the text mining dataset. Importing of the text is done by uploading a file or specifying the location of a text repository. Netlytics can parse email-based or forum-based online communication that have been stored in either XML (e.g., RSS feeds), MySQL database, or a rich text file. Multiple text files must be uploaded to Netlytics one file at a time. Text files for analysis can be either comma delimited CSV files or full-text transcripts (with headers).
Step 2: Scrubbing Text for the Data Mining Process
Once imported, spurious and irrelevant text is removed. Anything considred as “chaff” (i.e., any duplicate verbiage) is deleted by eliminating any text beginning with a symbol indicating a pattern of quotes such as a colon or quote marks or greater-than sign.
Step 3. Text Analysis
After the data importing and cleansing steps are completed, the data mining process begins. This is done by building very concise summaries of the common textual discourse extracting the most descriptive terms (usually nouns and noun phrases) and presenting them in the form of interactive concept clouds.
With such an extraction summary as a textmining start point, researchers or subject matter experts can pick out emerging topical interests and/or priorities as well as noting patterns of language and interaction that characterize the predictive data modeling for the given community.
These descriptive terms can also be used as “entrance points” to the important events in the text mining dataset. For data analytics to begin, the dataset is acted upon when the “Analyze” button is pressed. This causes the “Local Concepts Extractor” to find all “important” concepts within the dataset. Once the status bar on a particular extractor reaches the 100% mark, the the “Draw” function is used to explore the extracted concepts and topics.

Web Hosting
Game servers do a lot of work. For example, a game server will compare and calculate a character’s position, distant from other players and animates a character among other things. Servers also notify a client during an attack, reports damage, calculate projectiles as well as determine what kills a character in games like modern warfare.
In the real world however, a dedicated server is actually a misnomer. A number of dedicated game servers are needed for most MMORPGs. Why a number of servers when one has a lot of processing power? These games generally require players to log in, chat or access account information. All servers can be separated and handled by different servers for a number of reasons. A login server, for example, allow gamers to put in their login information and access the game world from anywhere in the world. Chat servers relay text information between different players. A VoIP server allows for voice traffic.
